Hello! I am Kar Hoon.
I am a Chartered Accountant with two decades of experience managing budgets in a government ministry. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, I found myself working longer hours from home, sometimes past midnight. The stress and exhaustion took a toll on me, prompting me to reassess how I wanted to lead my life. I wanted better control over my time and I want to challenge myself by learning something new.

At the end of 2022, I made a bold decision to quit my job. While helping my daughter prepare for her PSLE in 2023, I had time to do activities I love, like nature walks, daily qigong practice, and basic water-coloring classes at NAFA. This transition allowed me to spend more quality time with my family and pursue what I truly love. I also started to plan my next career move.

I’ve always had a keen interest in property. Over the past decade, my husband and I visited several new property launches but hesitated to commit. At that time, we struggled to justify taking a mortgage for a private condo that was smaller than our fully paid HDB. In hindsight, it’s a decision we regretted as we watched property prices soar. Unfortunately, we didn’t seek advice from real estate agents, as many seemed overly focused on closing sales, which made us sceptical. We had missed some opportunities and there is no point dwelling on it. Now we actively look out for property investment opportunities as part of our retirement planning.

In 2024, I enrolled in the Real Estate Salesperson (RES) course to deepen my understanding of the industry and make informed decisions for my family. After successfully passing the exams, I decided to become a realtor. My goal is to help others acquire their dream homes and navigate their real estate investment journeys with confidence and care.
